What is Spine Yoga?
Spine yoga: a 90-minute class in which yoga and physical therapy are combined. The body is shaped by the rules of Iyengar yoga, it contains precise anatomical development of the asanas, and joint protection. Iyengar uses yoga tools for precise execution: yoga brick, yoga strap, block, and soft ball with tools keeping in mind the balance of mobilization and stabilization.
In the first half of the class, we improve the forward bending, backward bending, side bending and rotational movements of the spine with spine-stretching and mobilizational asanas. Reverse positions are very important, they also help normalize blood pressure.
In the second half of the class, we continue strengthening the deep trunk muscles and core muscles on stable and unstable surfaces. We progress with thematic classes, e.g.: hip-pelvic opening, lumbar spine, thoracic spine, cervical spine. We recommend it for maintenance after the rehabilitation of disc hernia and other spinal diseases, to improve posture
